FAQ & Support

Questions, answered.

The things people ask on Discord most often. If yours isn't here, ask there — someone (often the dev) will answer.

01Getting started

Getting started

Do I need the official DCS F-16C Viper?

Yes. The DCMii F-16 Sufa Mod builds on the DCS: F-16C Viper module by Eagle Dynamics — its cockpit, systems and avionics. You need DCS World with the F-16C Viper installed. The mod is free, but it doesn't replace the module.

Is the mod free?

Yes. The DCMii F-16 Sufa Mod is free, made by the DCMii modding team as a community project. It is unofficial and not affiliated with or endorsed by Eagle Dynamics.

How do I install the mod?

Download the Main Package (required) and optionally the Liveries package. Then either let the optional DCMii Sufa Installer place everything, or do it by hand: the Main Package contains two more ZIPs — extract DCS_ROOT.zip into your OvGME repository and merge the Scripts folder from SAVED_GAMES.zip into your active Saved Games/DCS profile. Liveries go into Saved Games/DCS/Liveries. Either way, you finish by enabling the packages in OvGME.

Which files are required?

Only the Main Package (V4.1.0 DCMii-Project F-16 Sufa Main.zip) is required. Inside it you need two of the five OvGME packages plus the Saved Games scripts. Everything else is optional.

  • Required: DCMii-Project-F-16I_Sufa (aircraft)
  • Required: DCMii-Project-F-16I Sufa PW-229 Sounds
  • Required for multicrew: the Scripts folder from SAVED_GAMES.zip
  • Optional: AGM-154B, Python-5, SPICE 2000
  • Optional: the separate Liveries package

What does the DCMii Downloader do?

The DCMii Downloader is a small Windows app that fetches the release packages (Main and Liveries) from DCMii's release storage on Cloudflare R2. It is manifest-enabled: it detects the latest release automatically, so you don't need to download a new Downloader for each update. It only downloads — installing is a separate step.

What does the Windows installer do?

The DCMii Sufa Installer is optional and not a standalone download of the mod. You point it at the ZIPs you already have (from the Downloader or Google Drive) and it does the folder work: extracts the Main ZIP, places the mod packages into your selected OvGME repository, detects your Saved Games profile, installs the multicrew scripts and, if selected, the liveries. You then enable the packages in OvGME as usual. Manual installation is still fully supported. Get it from Google Drive or the download channel on Discord.

02Flying

Flying

How does multicrew work?

Two players join the front (pilot) and rear (WSO) slot of the same two-seat aircraft on a server that supports the mod, such as Pixel Storm. Both stay in their seats for the whole flight. Press R to request flight control; many systems — startup, INS, DED/steerpoints, Master Arm, flight modes, gear, speedbrakes, canopy — are shared between both cockpits. Both players need the same DCMii version, including the Saved Games scripts.

Which keys switch seats or controls?

In singleplayer, use 0 and 9 to switch between front and rear cockpit of a two-seater. In multiplayer, press R to request flight control — this changes who flies, not where you sit.

Why do both of us have to rearm and refuel?

Each DCS client simulates its own fuel and stores. In multicrew, pilot and WSO must each request and complete the ground-crew service on their own PC. If only one does it, the two states drift apart and synchronization suffers.

Can I fly the mod on any multiplayer server?

Not every server. Some servers run an integrity check that rejects modified DCS-root files. You need a server that supports the mod: V4.1.0 is available and flyable on Pixel Storm. Ask on Discord for others.

03Support

Support

How do I report a problem?

Join the Discord and open a support ticket. Include your DCMii version, DCS version, the aircraft variant, singleplayer or multiplayer, what you expected and what happened. Your dcs.log (Saved Games/DCS/Logs) and a screenshot or short clip help a lot.

What are the known limitations?

Visible pilot/WSO bodies are not available yet; incorrect pitch or stabilizer behaviour may occur during multicrew control handovers; in singleplayer the HUD-repeater camera may still be visible through the front cockpit seat (fixed in multiplayer). Some systems are intentionally not synchronized between seats, such as TGP/FCR cursors and the SMS weapon counter.

Multicrew isn't syncing. What should I check?

Make sure both clients run the exact same DCMii build and both installed the Scripts folder from SAVED_GAMES.zip into the Saved Games profile DCS actually uses (watch out for DCS.openbeta or custom profiles and avoid Scripts/Scripts nesting). The server must support the mod as well.

Still stuck?

Post in the Discord support channel with your DCMii version, DCS version, aircraft variant and your dcs.log.
